For Christmas we received tickets to the Pet Porpoise Pool in Coffs Harbour. We went as a family and had a great day. Watching the dolphin show was the highlight but the seals were funny and such characters.
Here is a layout I did about the day. I cropped my photos narrowly so that I could easily fit 5 photos on the layout. It also helped focus on the the dolphins, removing the distracting backgrounds.
Oh Cindy, this layout is fantastic! I saw that idea of cutting the photos narrower in one of my mags a while ago, think it was Creating Keepsakes December. Love it, it looks very cool... You can also get that effect in Picasa if you create a collage. Just select the 5 photos you want to use then you don't waste anything. I did one on my blog, of my son Jack, but not yet scrapped it.
This is so cool Cindy, love the effect of cutting up a photo into small strips, I have just done a similar thing on a LO over on my blog! Love the cute nose of the seal! I luv Picasa too! Luv Shaz xoxo
thanks for the comments. I crop the photos using Photoshop Elements. and i love the effect. I also did this same style for a layout that i am getting pubished in Scrapbook Creations. thanks again for the comments.
Hey Cindy! WOW! Your layout of the Porpoise pool and surrounding is brilliant hun:) Well done, love your work. Thanks for all your kind words whilst Im in recovery hun, appreciate them and looking forward to catching up indeed.
I live on the mid north coast of New South Wales in Australia with my partner of 13 years and my 2 beautiful daughters. I have always been a crafty person, mostly cross stitching, beading and sewing but in Sept 2005 I came across scrapbooking and was hooked. Although I have put my other crafts aside, I still incorporate them into my layouts and my style has evolved so much since then. I have the pleasure of being a Design Team Member for Stefanie at Journaling Junkie and for Renee at A Day In The Life of Renee, which is such an honour and a great way to challenge myself. I was also extremely fortunate to receive 2 Honorable Mentions in the 'Scrapbooking Memories Masters 2009' competition and 1 Honorable Mention in the 2010 competition. Scrapbooking is a wonderful and creative way to record our lives and just a great way to unwind at the end of the day.
